TO AMEND STONE AMENDMENT TO S. 1281, A BILL TO REQUIRE LENDING INSTITUTIONS TO DISCLOSE INFORMATION CONCERNING THEIR DEPOSITS AND FEDERALLY RELATED MORTGAGE LOAN OPERATIONS (ANTI-REDLINING BILL). THE STONE AMENDMENT REQUIRES LENDING INSTITUTIONS TO DISCLOSE THE LOCATION OF THEIR MORTGAGES BY ZIP CODES RATHER THAN BY CENSUS TRACTS. THE PROXMIRE AMENDMENT THERETO PROVIDES THAT THE USE OF ZIP CODES BE RESTRICTED TO AREAS OUTSIDE CITIES AND TO ALL CITIES OF LESS THAN 350,000.
