THE JEFFORDS AMENDMENT REQUIRES THE PRESIDENT TO INCLUDE GOALS FOR REASONABLE PRICE STABILITY IN HIS ANNUAL REPORTS BEGINNING THE THIRD YEAR AFTER ENACTMENT OF THE BILL, AND DEFINES PRICE STABILITY ACCORDING TO A GOAL OF 3% INFLATION TO BE REACHED FIVE YEARS AFTER ENACTMENT OF THE BILL.
