TO TABLE THE CHAFEE AMENDMENT TO THE CRANSTON AMENDMENT (SEE RC 566) TO H.R. 5383, THE BILL RAISING THE MANDATORY RETIREMENT AGE FROM SIXTY-FIVE TO SEVENTY. THE CHAFEE AMENDMENT RETAINS LANGUAGE THAT EXEMPTS TENURED PROFESSORS AND ALSO BUSINESS EXECUTIVES WITH ANNUAL PENSIONS OF MORE THAN $20,000 FROM THE PROVISIONS OF THIS BILL.
