THE BROOKE AMENDMENT AUTHORIZES THE USE OF FEDERAL FUNDS FOR ABORTIONS IF THE LIFE OF THE MOTHER WOULD BE ENDANGERED BY THE PREGNANCY, IF SEVERE AND LONG-LASTING PHYSICAL HEALTH DAMAGE WOULD RESULT TO THE MOTHER, OR IF THE MOTHER IS A VICTIM OF RAPE OR INCEST AND HAS REPORTED THE INCIDENT TO THE PROPER AUTHORITIES.
