TO AMEND THE ARMSTRONG AMENDMENT TO H.J. RES. 409. THE STEVENS AMENDMENT PROVIDES THAT AMOUNTS DEDUCTED BY ANY MEMBER FOR LIVING EXPENSES WITH RESPECT TO ANY TAXABLE YEAR SHALL NOT EXCEED AN AMOUNT WHICH RESULTS IN A REDUCTION OF FEDERAL INCOME TAX OF MORE THAN $5,000 FOR THAT MEMBER; AND THAT NO LATER THAN MAY 15 OF EACH CALENDAR YEAR EACH MEMBER OF CONGRESS, INCLUDING NONVOTING DELEGATES, SHALL CAUSE TO APPEAR IN THE CONGRESSIONAL RECORD A COPY OF ANY AND ALL FEDERAL TAX RETURNS FILED BY HIMSELF OR HERSELF, EITHER SEPARATELY OR JOINTLY FILED.
