S. 2248 ALSO AUTHORIZES SUPPLEMENTAL FUNDS FOR FISCAL YEAR 1982, FOR MILITARY PROCUREMENT PROGRAMS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE. THE QUALE AMENDMENT RETAINS THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE DEPENDENTS' EDUCATION SYSTEM IN THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE, INSTEAD OF PERMITTING IT TO BE TRANSFERRED TO THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION.
