THE AMENDMENT WOULD STRIKE LANGUAGE WHICH WOULD RAISE THE VALUE OF SERVICE CONTRACTS FROM $2,500 TO $1 MILLION, BELOW WHICH CONTRACTING FIRMS WOULD BE EXEMPT FROM CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF THE SERVICE CONTRACT OF 1965 AND ALSO VOID THE NONAPPLICABLITY OF THE SERVICE CONTRACT ACT TO CERTAIN MARINER SERVICE CONTRACTS.
